LoveLid & How It came to be

Founded in 2017, LoveLid emerged from Lydia Stevenson’s passion for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences. Inspired by her background in pastry and woodworking, Lid’s journey began with a pivotal moment during her pastry apprenticeship in 2014. It was then that she realised the power of a beautifully crafted wedding cake to evoke joy and wonder.

Drawing from her diverse skill set and unwavering dedication, Lid established LoveLid as a bespoke wedding cake designer and sugar flower specialist based in Berlin. From humble beginnings in Bavaria to refining her craft in Florence, each step of Lid’s journey has been fueled by a commitment to excellence and a love for creating art that tells a story.

"Lid created our wedding cake with love and enthusiasm which left us confident to create her magic. With three layers of all different sponges and flavours to add to her design of our liking and with the finishing touches to match in with our flower theme. The transportation and the ability to keep everything completely perfect on a hot day was was perfectly. It certainly was a talking point, cut beautifully and just delicious. Lid also hand carved an oak base with our initials to add to our special day so we keep.
